Calorie restriction can do everything from assist in weight loss through careful diet planning or even increase the life span. Most often, calorie restriction is used to create a weight loss program that is used to expedite the weight loss process and help the dieter to lose as much as weight as possible.
There are many risks to calorie restriction diet plans. One of these main risks of calorie restriction as a means of weight loss is the fact that the dieter can become malnutrition. When we reduce the calories that are taken into the body we also reduce the vitamins which are required to assist the body through all of the natural processes.
Calorie restriction has been known to reduce the amount of calories as much as fifty percent that the dieter has been regularly consuming. As well as this point, there are many people that use calorie restriction as a severe form of dieting to a precursor for an eating disorder. Severe calorie restriction should be avoided, as the diet technique will hinder, rather than help the weight loss process.
Dieters need to realize that a calorie is not a calorie – a calorie of fat indeed differs from a calorie that has been consumed in the body through the means of lean proteins, fruits and vegetables and whole grains. These types of calories are less likely to absorb into the cells as fat, and more likely to be absorbed into the muscles to develop muscle mass within the body or to be used in positive ways within the body that do not result in weight gain.
Therefore, the choices that we make within regards to the foods that we eat are very important in the way that our bodies function and lose or gain weight. If we choose the right calories, we can easily make weight loss a reality, if we choose the wrong calories – it can mean that we are going to cause the body to gain weight.
Calorie restriction has many dangers aside from the obvious means that it will become detrimental to the weight loss process. those who are trying to reduce the amount of calories they consume often have significantly decreased energy levels – which can make it impossible to find the motivation to exercise.
Calorie restriction, in its extreme forms is by no means healthy. Once the body reaches a certain state which is similar to starvation (surprisingly, the vast majority of diets cause the body to reach this state) – the body begins to preserve the calories that are consumed. So, what does this mean for the dieter? This means, that if you do not consume enough calories, the body can actually rebel and cause the dieter to gain weight, rather than lose weight. This is not the results that most dieters want – but yet, there are so many dieters that starve themselves to achieve the goals of diet perfection that come with weight loss.
