Lose Weight by Avoiding Carbs after 5pm

There are many people that adhere to the one diet rule that they will not snack after dinner, some dieters take this to the next level by avoiding carbohydrate laden foods completely even before dinner, and throughout the dinner meal. Losing weight by not eating carbohydrates after five o’clock can be simple, as the body is less active in the evening as we are often winding down from the day and living a sedentary lifestyle throughout the evening as we prepare for bed. Throughout this time, the body is not undergoing physical activity to burn the calories which are consumed.

When there is no transition occurring to burn the calories which have been consumed as energy, it is simple for these calories to become absorbed into the body and converted into fat cells. Therefore, avoiding foods that contain high levels of processed and refined carbohydrates can lead to weight gain over a period of time.

As an alternative to eating refined carbohydrates after five o’clock, consider choosing healthy foods like apples and other pieces of fruit, or snacks that contain low amounts of calories. There are many snacks available that contain fewer than one hundred calories – and these snacks are great alternatives to fill the gaps of hunger that can occur through the evening.

For many people, eating during the evening occurs from sheer habit, as we are used to sitting in front of the television or eating a snack before bedtime. Therefore, we eat not out of hunger, but we eat out of habit. These snacks and meals that are eaten out of habit can contribute to up to ten pounds gained per year! An extra ten pounds from snacking during the evening seems excessive for a society that is trying to curb weight loss and lose those excess pounds.

Rather than eating in the evening, many people that are trying to lose weight through the method of avoiding carbohydrates after five o’clock choose to move their nightly workout to this time. In the evening, working out can be just as effective and is a great time to fit it into your daily schedule. Drinking lots of water through the workout can reduce the hunger that can come after a workout.

Remember the importance of making healthy choices for after-work out snacks such as fruit and be sure to drink an adequate amount of water to avoid or reduce the hunger that you face after a hard workout in which hundreds of calories have been burned. It can be hard to fend off hunger that comes with an evening workout – but with lots of water, it can be done!

Eventually, the dieter will get into a routine that allows them to have their larger meals early in the day. This can allow the dieter to burn these heavy meals that are high in calories throughout the day. This reverse meal plan diet can help the dieter to lose up to twenty pounds per year when it is combined with thirty minutes of exercise per day.
